Hello, Mountaineer Middle School Band!
I am thrilled to step into the role of your new band director! It’s with great excitement that I join this esteemed group, ready to embark on a musical journey filled with dedication and, of course, plenty of fun! I can’t wait to work alongside our talented students, fostering creativity, camaraderie, and excellence in music.
Calendar of Events – July 2024:
● Monday, July 1 & Tuesday, July 2: Full band rehearsal from 9 am to 12noon.
● Wednesday, July 3: Full band rehearsal with Westwood Middle School from 8 am to 11 am.
● Monday, July 8: Trip to PNC Park. Meeting at the school at 8:30 am, boarding buses at 9:00 am, departing for Pittsburgh at 9:30 am. Performance just before the game starts. Return around 5:00 pm. Note: PNC Park is cashless. Students are responsible for food and souvenirs. (see separate post with more details)
July 15-18 and July 22-25
Sectional Camps (Monday-Thursday):
○ Mondays: Full band rehearsal 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
○ Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays:
– Drums rehearsal: 9:00 am – 10:30 am.
– Winds (brass and woodwinds) rehearsal: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm.
July 29-31
Full Band Camp:
○ Rehearsals: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
○ Wednesday concludes with a party and games.
Please make every effort to attend all rehearsals. Our success depends on your participation.
